1. What we collect
- Account data: email, name, password (hashed — we cannot read it), roles.
- Identity verification (KYC): US driving-license number, issuing state, name, date of birth, expiration, and photos of the license you upload. Required to activate an account.
- Work data: CVs/resumes you upload, assessment attempts and scores, tracked work-session times, deliverables you submit, reviews received.
- Financial records: escrow funding amounts, earnings, fees, withdrawal requests, and a double-entry ledger of every movement of funds. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Technical data: IP address (for country restrictions, VPN detection, rate limiting, and audit trails), browser type via standard server logs.
2. Why we collect it
- To operate the marketplace: matching, assignments, time tracking, payments, and dispute resolution.
- To prevent fraud, duplicate accounts, and policy-violating access — including checking whether your connection originates from a supported country or an anonymizing service.
- To meet financial record-keeping and tax obligations.
3. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
- We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Cookies are limited to keeping you signed in and remembering your dark/light preference.
- Publishers never see your KYC documents, CV, or exact work-session internals — only review outcomes they are entitled to.
4. Sharing
Data is shared only with processors required to run the service: Neon (database hosting), Stripe (payments), our object-storage provider (encrypted file storage), Resend (transactional email), and Cloudflare (DNS/CDN). Each processes data solely on our instructions.
5. Retention
Financial and ledger records are retained permanently — they are the system's accounting source of truth and cannot be altered or deleted once written. Account profile data can be deleted on request except where retention is legally required; KYC images are deleted after verification review windows expire.
6. Your rights
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data by contacting support through the platform. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA/UK, you additionally have rights to object to processing and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
